ABG Board Meeting Project Update

Asad ur Rehman from Unilever presented a brief update on the UAE Audience Measurement Project Roadmap to the ABG Board.

Below is an update of key points discussed at the ABG board meeting held yesterday:

  • There was a comment in the room on how we are going to manage sensibilities on online video first approach and linear TV.
  • It was agreed that we will put in a holistic  communication plan in place for this project. A plan that covers the key stakeholders, the ABG member base, as well as the wider industry. That plan will be aligned within the Committee and shared with the board.
  • It was agreed that the committee will present the Phase 2 funding plan within 10 days.
  • It was noted that it is most crucial to have a funding plan and schema agreed by all stakeholders post the RFP responses.
  • There was an ask in the room on how we make sure that we identify the right stakeholders within the key UAE government corridors to avoid any potential risk on this project falling out due to unfavorable or late feedback. It was also discussed that we need a plan to potentially proactively position this project as a “technological innovation” milestone for UAE. It was also agreed that we should seek professional help from a consultant or a PR/lobbying firm to help land this work.
